In Depth: This piece was done for a graphic t-shirt project. It had to adhere to a strict 6 color limit for potential screen printing.
The character comes from the game Splatoon and is an inkling, which is some type of human/squid hybrid. The weird look of the "hair" comes from it actually being tentacles made to look like a human hair-style. +1 for creative character design.

In Depth: This is a design for a graphic t-shirt and also an excuse to work in Illustrator more. The title alludes to a stage called "Big Apple 3 AM" in the TMNT game "Turtles in Time". At the start of the stage the announcer says its name and I always got a kick out of his pronunciation. It sounded less like "Big Apple 3 AM" and more like "biapple [pause] threeayaaam". I still played this game to death despite some of the questionable voice work used in it.
This was sketched out in Sketchbook Pro 7, then imported into Illustrator to do the vector line work.

In Depth: This was done as an homage to the many moments of my childhood to adulthood spent with a game controller in my hand and colorful pixels beaming directly into my retinas. All of the games you see on the floor hold a special place in my heart. As I painted individual covers on each of them, it took me on a nostalgia trip to past fictional adventures I had alone in my room and with friends and family. Someone please create a time-machine in my lifetime!
